Obama takes the View
I thought it was very entertaining and "different" that the President was on "The View." I have always admired that show because I love to hear their thoughts but also like the debates. I never thought Id see the president on it though. Im a huge Obama fan and despite the views of others on his term so far and what he is doing for the country, I have been his fan since before the election process. Anyway, I think the fact that they had him on and he agreed to being on such a public show was a great way to publicly involve himself. Although Im pretty sure many people thought it was inappropriate, I just think he's real. I don't ever seeing George Bush in the public eye, taking responsibility for things. If anyone does watch the View then you'll know that Elisabeth Hasselback was a diehard republican in the pre-election days. She hated Obama and everything about him. But did anyone happen to catch the fact that she is taking her kids to the White House and may very well be turning into a democrat? For someone who fought with her co-hosts every show and held up the republican way of doing things, she isn't such a committed follower after all. haha

Regardless of my feelings for the current president of the U.S., I don't see any harm in him or any future president going on the View...as long as Whoopi doesn't open her ridiculous mouth. It wasn't "rape rape..."

He's the first sitting president to appear on a talk show while in office. I wondered, why the View? Why not Ellen Degeneres or Bonnie Hunt?
ReplyDeleteJoking aside, it is significant that a President has taken a step into pop culture like this. That being said, Sarah Palin is bad for politics, and I'd have been happier, I think, if Obama had kept it in Washington. We don't need to further empower this new celebrity/politico fad.
I think its great that President Obama goes on programs like the view and late night talk shows. The president shouldnt be someone completely shrowded in secrecy. The American people elected him and are interested in what he has to say, so why not make yourself availble to the public any way you can. I think President Obama does a great job getting himself out there for his messages and so the public can see him and relate to him more.
ReplyDeleteI think so too. Regardless of what people say about him, I agree that this is the first president who has taken the initiative to be involved with the people and be part of America in a sense without having to be solely involved in the White House and politics of the world.
